Mahatma Gandhi used to say that reaching beyond the system of British Empire would require a triple transformation -
of education, media and professions. At this web we focus on the revolutions in media entrepreneurs will need to collaboratively connect in the next 5 years if the planet is to be sustainable

What chance of sustainability if organisations like enron are alowed to buy their way to
the top of CSR ratings and accountants use nonsensical mwasures of goodwill
.
What chance if
an organsiation with a life-saving solution is charged the same for worldwide news as purveyor of a new flavour of soda

how mature is the CSR of that corporate brand
Hi Phillippa
Your CSR work in rural Brazil -where the great poverty educatior Paulo Freire came
from - sounds supercool -very relevant to micromediasummit (one of 5 summits I want to see fulfining dr yunus's wishers
within 2 years ) http://yunusuni.com
What I guess could be called the maturity profile of designing in CSR from non-existent, to PR to , connecting
with vision, to systematically pervasive is I believe something that interests many of our business clusters by city

Do get in touch in advance of coming back to one of our cities; we are expecting to host 100 person monthly
meetings on these agendas from october- perhaps it would be relevant to have a joint meeting with TIE given my work on which
brands to trust world class responsibility began with my 1989 book - so I know most of the published communicators who
have developed this genre over 20 years
Welcome to the second edition of the TIE
newsletter.
We’re happy to say that it’s been a busy few months on both sides of the Atlantic since
our last update and we have loads of things to tell you. Ryan Fisher from Wieden + Kennedy London is in the process of preparing
for his placement with the HIV/AIDS NGO GTP+. He arrives in November – so not long now!
We are
also thrilled to announce that we now have the pleasure of working with the communications network WPP, the UK agencies AMVBBDO
and DDB, the local agency INATA and Brazilian NGO Em Cena. Leo Burnett is in the process of finalising the details
for the next TIE candidate and we have a new member of the TIE team. No rest for the wicked! Have a read about all of
this and more below.
I’m going to be back in London in December. So if you want to know more about TIE and
how you can get involved – just let me know and we’ll book in a meeting. We are also looking to hold
our first Friends of TIE evening in December - a great way to get like-minded people together over a few glasses of wine.
We’ll keep you posted on where and when closer to the time.
As always, if you, your communications company
or NGO are interested in getting involved in any way, please, get in touch. Or, if you know other people or organisations
that may be interested, please do forward on our newsletter. The more people that know about us the better!

other videos to come from yunus archives eg the Ning Chinese

I note the announcement below is one of the agendas at clinton global initiative
in New York in a fortnight- does anyone know any of the speakers- one of the cheekier components of collaboration cafe sends
out an invite to a big name saying we'll find 10 people who most want to listen -for a hour's cafe - to how to collaborate
with them - often the people who actually want to network find they have an hour in their diary - if anyone feels one of these
people or another CGI speaker is someone we must send an invite to- happy to help or just go for it
whlst
on the line one collab cafe led to another; and london is starting 100 people monthly MICRO meetings; and it seemed
time to see if we citizens everywhere can grant the wishes of 100000 Bangladeshi microinvestors in people and go
beyond microcreditsummit to 3 other revolutionary summit networks for and by people- do tell me if any of these is someting
you'd like to be in at shaping from the get-go
http://microprosummit.com/ - gandhi's eureka was that you cannot go beyond global down empiire unless you can transform professions and their monopolies
- he spent 25 years mentoring my grandad on that lawyer to lawyer
http://micromediasummit.com/ we cannot long expect to live on a plantet where the cost of launching awareness for a new soda and that of sharing news
of an open life saving solution are both billions of dolars- how do we get free and real media spaces back
http://microeducationsummit.com/ I hate being a dad of a 11 year old and seeing her examined on stuff of no future relevance- when are we goiing to go beyond
education run for the convenience of governments so that youth and community have job prospects again

WORKING SESSION 4: Beyond Microfinance: Strengthening Business and Entrepreneurship Education
for Women in Emerging Economies
Thursday 9/25/08, 4:00 P.M. – 5:30 P.M.
Beyond Microfinance: Strengthening
business and entrepreneurship education for women in emerging economies will examine ways to strengthen the quality
of business schools and entrepreneurial certificate programs for women. Business education is critical to reducing inequality
in developing economies. These programs are providing the necessary skills and employment flexibility for secondary school
graduates who had previously been left out of the changing global economy. Panelists will discuss innovative models that provide
learning equivalencies for women who have never had the opportunity to complete a secondary education, These opportunities
allow women to develop the skills needed to start their own enterprises or continue on to higher education, earning returns
that are experienced not only by themselves and their families, but by the whole community.

Forming Social Action Group of Yunus10000 dvd -sampler survey mailout 1
The slide attached shows 9 of the most linked people at grameen's 25000 intrapreneur network and the future dialogues
(and open knowhow they wish to export from bangladesh) they want to connect worldwide - if anyone can make something
like this on brac or asa or other collaboration network that would be great. we have about 10 hours of video and speeches
made during 2008 with these 9 most linked peers of Muhammad Yunus
When I first met Dr Yunus on 3 jan I told him
I am pretty useless at everything except scaling big rumors of what's possible - fortunately he has found that fun or
timely so far given that grameen, brac and asa are probably the only sustainability investors any of us should trust
with the world in this most maddening banking/carbon drowinng year of 8 of exponentially wasting humanity courtesy of
texas in the white house and other last tangos with superpower
SO A FEW BIQ QUESTIONS
Is it practical
to have a group brainstorm connecting 3 things
1 liz- what kind of job etc are you most looking for in canada? (or
indeed anyone job searching)
2 how can we help Bangladeshi micro-knowledge network and change the world - if that
is we agree with their microentrepreneur views such as youth are going to have create most of their own jobs; if community
building was vocationally much more real earlier in schools, then much of the world of credit, education, work would be different
any way as we could all be entrepreneurs in sustaining the world
3 who else
is we? apart from geo intros- clare in dublin; mark, sofia, tav, brad, mamading in london; mostofa london-dhaka; rachel
and alexis and peter, spncer, iddy in new york but with rachel doing a semester in prague; robert in paris; marriah in
boston; lesley in joburg; pamela in london but networking micro africa; nina in florida; tom and phillipa in LA, sam in barcelona
......
I
will leave others to introduce themselves if they choose except to say that right now mostofa is in dhaka and is in effect
finding out how yunus wants to accelerate his youth and citizen dilaogues over the next 12 months and which experiments he
yunus wants which countries to try out
regarding 2 I am looking for some help in canada - some of which I can sponsor
up to $2000 worth -which I agree isnt much
help 1 is getting yunus dvd 10000 into some clusters of canadian college
youth with the objective of keeping at elast 1 social action dilaogue going tyhrough tyhe academic year per cluster - be
it on solar energy, mobile applications, making sure big banks dont ruin microcedit, end poverty or other womens and youths'
concerns, or how to become an open ambassador for life of the knowhow exchnages that bangladesh wants to animate with
the world; basically the national strategy is invent sustainability solutions that china or india need ; export them mainly
as open source but qualty certified franchises; knowing pretty well that whatever china or india needs in terms of MICRO =
deep commun ty solutions will ceratinly be usable to end poverty and may actually stop rich nations from turning poor- did
we really need the subprime crisis; I believe an 11 year old's curriculum on economic systems could have prevented it;
its not really intelligence that is needed to stop subprime it is restoring democracy/media to look after the people on compound
risks; I think canada is likely to lead the north american contiment on that just as parts of nordica lead europe-though I
am delighted tp find micro-leaders wherever your peers are
1.1 its my understanding that mostofa has been charged
with forming a regsistered club of 5000 ambassadors for life - who here wants to help him and how? can we for example
start small scale (eg 35 dollar experiemnts) on twinning export associations with our cities and dhaka - eg a verty small
start http://anglobangla.com
1.1.1 part of the reason why we need at least 5000 MICRO ambassadors is we need to extend microcreditsummity to
at least 10 other ,microsummit: youth media energy water health education etc - at east yunusand his Bangladeshi peers wish
to see this if we do and since microcreditsummit is a mkodel of the best use of networking yet seen, why not do in these other
communally vital areas too?
help 2 there is this guy shawn http://uncultured.com/http://www.youtube.com/user/UnculturedProject who is one of youtube's most briliant users - certainly of bangladesh content - and he's currently back in toronto
- how can we invite him into our brainstrorming (is he or is he not a cluster of ambassadors for bangladesh)
I wonder
if we could also verify a short list of canadians who might help connect youth and bangladesh and how to ask them whether
they will join . I think of such people as;
naomi klein who I have once talked t about deep democracy but dont expect
she'll remember me
the host the hour tv program who does friendly interviews of yunus but I dont know
how to quickly contact
georgina benciski who I note from facebook as a politics for the people person
I
am sure local canadians can quickly make a dpeper list
the founders of takingitglobal at york university
the
founders of freethechildren who I think are also at another uni
resources
collaboration cafe is an intercity
event anykine supporting microentrepreneurs can play and connect with // knowhow from dhaka, london, new york, paris etc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9nL_a0K97I
london has also been asked to guarantee a meeting takes place by spring
2009 in which at least 300 social actions or socila busuness concepts are published and which can serve as a model for any
coty that wants yunus to come and celebrate their scaling up of social competences for 2 hours
we are wondering
how to most simply have one presence at each main tool like faceboook etc as well as man presneces where the tool actually
sustains incresing use of type needed
the videos that mark has shot and which will comprise the first wave
of yunus dvd10000 are mainly at
it seems that helping protcet these open source models from being bviisouly used
wrong way round is somethimg we need citizens to help with everywhere though especially new york right now
what's
the one biggest leverage point you city can collaboratively bring to the table of sustaining all of by sharing micro
